Part Time Sales Associate/Clerk

BASIC PURPOSE
To greet all customers and donors and sell/process donations in accordance with The Salvation Army's Policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Duties as assigned by Manager/Assistant Manager including the following: stocking, cleaning, ragging out goods, operating the cash register and preparing daily paperwork
• Responsible for maintaining good customer relations and giving prompt, courteous assistance to the customer
• Ensuring the store’s appearance is clean and orderly in arrangement
• Responsible for janitorial duties, i.e. cleaning windows, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, cleaning the bathrooms, etc.
• Must answer the telephone in a courteous fashion and be able to direct the caller to the appropriate department

Full Time Maintenance Technician

Reno, NV

BASIC PURPOSE
The primary function of the Maintenance I position to assist The Salvation Army in facilitating its mission through the operation of the Reno Adult Rehabilitation Program which is under the direction of the County Coordinator. This position description is a broad outline of responsibilities and does not purport to be all-inclusive.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for the general maintenance of The Salvation Army’s facilities within the Reno Corps operation.
2. Assist in keeping properties maintained and operating
3. Maintain a monthly preventative maintenance program and inventory control log
4. Assist in budget adherence through cost and time-saving suggestions regarding maintenance operations, inventory controls and ordering of supplies with proper authorization.
5. Perform any assigned maintenance tasks given by supervisor. If a task is outside skill level, recommend best course of action.
6. Perform alterations and additions that can be accomplished by maintenance department.
7. Order supplies and equipment through Director of Operations and maintain security of same.
8. Check with supervisor periodically during the work day for additional tasks.
9. Maintain all storage and maintenance shops in a clean, safe manner.
10. Maintain and safeguard all company tools and equipment.
11. Help set up for upcoming events and meetings in conjunction with custodial staff.
12. Patrol curb appeal of all properties.
13. Fill in as a Production Assistant or Utility Driver as needed.
14. Supervise personal assigned to accomplish department tasks.
15. Act as a representative of The Salvation Army in affairs dealing with the public.
16. Abide by all local, state, federal, OSHA safety policies. Adhere to policies/procedures of The Salvation Army.
17. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Full Time Driver (Non-DOT)

Reno, NV

BASIC PURPOSE
The function of the Production Assistant IV is to assist in facilitating the overall mission of The Salvation Army through the programs offered at the Reno Corps under the direction of the Corps Officers and the Production Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan daily route based on pickups and deliveries. Routes to be established based on system in place.
• Make all scheduled calls in a timely and efficient manner. Areas of responsibility will be revenue centers and scheduled pickup calls.
• Instruct and supervise helper, remembering that this individual is a beneficiary in a rehabilitation program.
• Develop assigned routes by placing donation bags at the residences on the right and left of the pickup location.
• Ensure safety and safe handling of goods and materials being transported.
• Be responsible for the safety and security of the truck and equipment including the hand truck, blankets, etc.
• Prepare a daily inspection report as well as maintain daily driving logs. Daily inspection for water, air, oil and other items essential to maintain equipment in good condition.
• Report immediately by radio to your supervisor any accidents involving your vehicle, personal injury and/or property damage. Complete with a written report upon return to the Work Therapy Center. Keep accident reports and procedure forms in your vehicle at all times.
• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army, ensuring that all the individuals you come in contact with are treated with courtesy.
• Report immediately any problems to your supervisor through the dispatcher.

Finance Office Assistant

BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to process all matters related to the finances of the location. In addition, this position will assist the Washoe County Coordinators with other administrative tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Process all income in accordance with established policies and procedures (P&P).
• Process all expenses in accordance with established P&P.
• Prepare all documents as required for scheduled audits. • Maintain the various petty cash funds in accordance with established P&P.
• Prepare and process all end of month documents and reports.
• Receive payments for the sale of all donated vehicles.
• Record and report on all tithes and offerings in the Corps Management System.
• Process Food Stamp applications and recording of income in accordance with established P&P.
• Maintain and ensure compliance of all finance matters, even those not listed in this job description.
• Be cross-trained for and assist other staff as directed by Supervisor.

Administrative Assistant/Volunteer Coordinator

BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to assist the Washoe County Coordinators as needed as well as to recruit, train and organize all volunteers as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• General assistance to the Washoe County Coordinators related to administrative duties to include such things as correspondence, calendars, phone calls, filing, answering questions, etc.
• Maintain organization mailing lists.
• Organize and prepare for meetings as directed and take minutes if needed.
• Represent supervisors at various meetings and take phone calls where volunteer recruitment is involved to competently explain various opportunities for service throughout the year.
• Work with all supervisors to develop and maintain a list of volunteer opportunities and make sure the list is posted and kept up-to-date in the volunteer management software.
• Complete all volunteer paperwork and submit through channels, then keep an approved volunteer list.

The function of the Processing Associate III is to assist in facilitating the overall mission of The Salvation Army through the programs offered at the Reno Corps under the direction of the Corps Officers and the Processing Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ability to receive donated goods and process them in the most time and space effective manner.
• Ability to sort, clean and price donated goods for shipment to the thrift stores.
• Be able to discriminate between quality merchandise and inexpensive items, sorting in a careful manner to safeguard items.
• Determine merchandise that should be sent to the collectibles department for further processing.
• Handle all merchandise as per policy of the processing department and The Salvation Army; discard with inappropriate or suggestive messages, cult slogans, alcohol promotions, drug abuse or humanism.
• Must be able to operate pricing machines.
• Must be able to read and fill orders requested by Revenue Centers.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Be able to follow orders from supervisor without direct supervision.
• Follow The Salvation Army policy of “In Today, Out Tomorrow”.
• Must be able to work effectively with beneficiaries on work therapy assignments. The Salvation Army Fraternizing Policy is strictly enforced.
• Keep records of the amount of goods processed and turn them in to the Supervisor.
