Seasonal Kettle Coordinator

Reno, NV

BASIC PURPOSE
To assist The Salvation Army in fulfilling its mission by overseeing the Red Kettle Campaign of the Reno Corps in such a way to meet and, hopefully, succeed the campaign goal.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct orientation and training programs for all employees and volunteers affiliated with the kettle program as necessary.
• Assist HR personnel in the hiring of campaign workers, to include an assistant coordinator, drivers and bell ringers.
• Scheduling all staff and volunteer workers for optimal income generation.
• Coordinate volunteers (groups and individuals) and communicate regularly with them.
• Work with the Volunteer Coordinator in the placement of all volunteers.
• Supervise all campaign workers and volunteers to ensure that procedures and policies are followed.
• Coordinate and/or deliver all necessary equipment associated with the campaign, to include stands, kettles, bells, aprons and other supplies.
• Prepare and maintain kettle routes and necessary transportation for workers and volunteers.
• Conduct regular inspections of kettle workers and sites.
• Be responsible for all items of equipment owned or leased by The Salvation Army.
• Security is essential.
• Inventory all equipment – pre and post season, provide inventory to Supervisor.
• Keep records of volunteer activity.
• Maintain maintenance record and notify staff of equipment repair needs.
• Provide regular updates to the Corps Officer and other staff as needed.
• Participate in logistic meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by the Corps Officer.

Christmas Kettle Bell Ringer

Reno, NV

BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to greet the public at the red kettle and collect donations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Stand at the Red Kettle to receive donations.
2. Greet and thank the public as they donate.
3. Be responsible for the kettle donation money at all times, including securing the money during breaks and meal periods.
4. Provide written documentation of hours worked to supervisor as requested.
5. Follow instructions regarding times and locations of work.
6. Report all instances and concerns to their immediate supervisor immediately.

Full Time Sales Associate/Clerk

Reno, NV

BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of the Sales Associate I is to assist The Salvation Army in the operation of the Thrift Store for the Reno Adult Rehabilitation Program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Duties as assigned by the Manager or Assistant Manager including the following: Stocking, cleaning, ragging out goods, operating the cash register and preparing daily paperwork.
2. Responsibility for keys to store in order to open and/or close.
3. Responsible for maintaining good customer relations and giving prompt, courteous assistance to all customers.
4. Answer the telephone in a courteous fashion and direct the caller to the appropriate department.
5. Ensure the store’s appearance is clean and orderly in arrangement.
6. Responsible for janitorial duties: i.e. cleaning windows, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, etc. as assigned by management.

Full Time Driver (Non-DOT)

Reno, NV

BASIC PURPOSE
The function of the Production Assistant IV is to assist in facilitating the overall mission of The Salvation Army through the programs offered at the Reno Corps under the direction of the Corps Officers and the Production Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan daily route based on pickups and deliveries. Routes to be established based on system in place.
• Make all scheduled calls in a timely and efficient manner. Areas of responsibility will be revenue centers and scheduled pickup calls.
• Instruct and supervise helper, remembering that this individual is a beneficiary in a rehabilitation program.
• Develop assigned routes by placing donation bags at the residences on the right and left of the pickup location.
• Ensure safety and safe handling of goods and materials being transported.
• Be responsible for the safety and security of the truck and equipment including the hand truck, blankets, etc.
• Prepare a daily inspection report as well as maintain daily driving logs. Daily inspection for water, air, oil and other items essential to maintain equipment in good condition.
• Report immediately by radio to your supervisor any accidents involving your vehicle, personal injury and/or property damage. Complete with a written report upon return to the Work Therapy Center. Keep accident reports and procedure forms in your vehicle at all times.
• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army, ensuring that all the individuals you come in contact with are treated with courtesy.
• Report immediately any problems to your supervisor through the dispatcher.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
