Full Time Assistant Store Manager

Reno, NV

BASIC PURPOSE
The primary function of the Assistant Store Manager is to assist The Salvation Army in the operation of the Thrift Store for the Reno Adult Rehabilitation Program. This position description is a broad outline of responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for the management, operation, and maintenance of the Thrift Store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Adhere to operational policies including store hours, banking procedures, including making deposits, vacation schedules and all other guidelines of The Salvation Army. This includes, but not limited to, discount policy, rag-out procedures, production/sales accountability and proper money handling.
• Maintain good customer relations: recognizing the type of service expected and hold subordinates accountable. Assist Staff and customers with questions and concerns. Resolving complaints in a courteous manner while adhering to policy.
• Assist in the training of personnel in a manner to optimize their abilities for the betterment of the operation, stressing the importance of prompt courteous assistance to all customers. This includes the recruitment of new hires, community volunteers and court appointed individuals.
• Maintain a working inventory of paperwork and supplies
• Ensure the proper material needs of the stores and the subsequent shipment of those items from the warehouse.
• Aid in submitting payroll information for store in a timely and efficient manner.
• In accordance with The Salvation Army’s standards, implement progressive discipline measures to ensure the compliance of policies and procedures. Recommend disciplinary actions, up to and including termination to supervisor.
• Report any safety deficiencies to supervisor as soon as reasonable.
• Ensure the store is clean and orderly at all times.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Part Time Sales Associate/Clerk

Carson City, NV

BASIC PURPOSE
To greet all customers and donors and sell/process donations in accordance with The Salvation Army's Policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Duties as assigned by Manager/Assistant Manager including the following: stocking, cleaning, ragging out goods, operating the cash register and preparing daily paperwork
• Responsible for maintaining good customer relations and giving prompt, courteous assistance to the customer
• Ensuring the store’s appearance is clean and orderly in arrangement
• Responsible for janitorial duties, i.e. cleaning windows, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, cleaning the bathrooms, etc.
• Must answer the telephone in a courteous fashion and be able to direct the caller to the appropriate department
• Other duties as assigned
