Part Time Sales Associate/Clerk

BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of the Sales Associate IV is to assist The Salvation Army in the operation of the Thrift Store for the Reno Adult Rehabilitation Program. This Job Description is a broad outline of responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Duties as assigned by Manager/Assistant Manager including the following: stocking, cleaning, ragging out goods, operating the cash register and preparing daily paperwork
• Responsible for maintaining good customer relations and giving prompt, courteous assistance to the customer
• Ensuring the store’s appearance is clean and orderly in arrangement
• Responsible for janitorial duties, i.e. cleaning windows, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, cleaning the bathrooms, etc.
• Must answer the telephone in a courteous fashion and be able to direct the caller to the appropriate department
• Other duties as assigned

Full Time Assistant Store Manager

Reno, NV

BASIC PURPOSE
The primary function of the Assistant Store Manager is to assist The Salvation Army in the operation of the Thrift Store for the Reno Adult Rehabilitation Program. This position description is a broad outline of responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for the management, operation, and maintenance of the Thrift Store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Adhere to operational policies including store hours, banking procedures, including making deposits, vacation schedules and all other guidelines of The Salvation Army. This includes, but not limited to, discount policy, rag-out procedures, production/sales accountability and proper money handling.
• Maintain good customer relations: recognizing the type of service expected and hold subordinates accountable. Assist Staff and customers with questions and concerns. Resolving complaints in a courteous manner while adhering to policy.
• Assist in the training of personnel in a manner to optimize their abilities for the betterment of the operation, stressing the importance of prompt courteous assistance to all customers. This includes the recruitment of new hires, community volunteers and court appointed individuals.
• Maintain a working inventory of paperwork and supplies
• Ensure the proper material needs of the stores and the subsequent shipment of those items from the warehouse.
• Aid in submitting payroll information for store in a timely and efficient manner.
• In accordance with The Salvation Army’s standards, implement progressive discipline measures to ensure the compliance of policies and procedures. Recommend disciplinary actions, up to and including termination to supervisor.
• Report any safety deficiencies to supervisor as soon as reasonable.
• Ensure the store is clean and orderly at all times.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Full Time Antiques/Collectibles Pricer and On-Line Store Manager

BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to assist in the overall mission of The Salvation Army through the programs offered under the direction of Corps Officers, Director of Operations and Warehouse staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Process donated goods for sale in our collectibles and on-line stores.
2. Evaluate items and price according to industry standards.
3. Ensure proper cleaning and packaging prior to shipment.
4. Maintain records of hard tag items and update computer spreadsheets.
5. Keep a current inventory of needed supplies.
6. Contribute to the team effort of program participant guidance.

Receptionist

Reno, NV

BASIC PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to provide clerical support to the overall operation of all departments, employees, volunteers and visitors to The Salvation Army office. This position requires a great deal of confidentiality in the areas of personnel, program, operations and financial services. As part of the Administration team, flexibility and ability to learn, and assist with other departments is of great importance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General Office Duties:
• Answer incoming calls and greet visitors in a courteous manner, routing them to the proper department or individual. Taking messages when necessary.
• Assist with the opening, sorting, date stamp received and process all incoming mail.
• Post outgoing mail, insure that postage is affixed.
• Process Community Service paperwork for clients.
• Process correspondence as needed, including but not limited to SNAP letters, email, and mail merge as directed.
• Maintain supply of forms as needed. Making copies for other departments.
• Preparation of ARP Canteen cards, Bread, GIK, etc. for End of Month reports.
• When leaving at the end of the day, be sure that all equipment is turned off, doors are locked, and lights are turned off.
• Other duties as assigned by your supervisor or Corps Officer.
Finance Duties – as directed by supervisor:
• Receive and receipt walk in donations / money from other departments (ARP) as needed.
• Assist in the weekly preparation of bank deposits.
• Review and process Daily Store Reports.
• Log Social Services vouchers.
• Code and enter invoices into WorkFlow according to policy. Filing in un-paid or paid folders.
• Run Food Stamps on a semi-monthly basis.

Seasonal Christmas Kettle Driver

Reno, NV

BASIC PURPOSE
To assist The Salvation Army in fulfilling its mission by assisting the Red Kettle Campaign of the Reno Corps in such a way to meet and, hopefully, succeed the campaign goal.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Safely transport all bell ringers to and from designated bell ringing sites in a timely manner.
2. Drop off and collect kettles from bell ringing sites
3. Ensure that bell ringers fill in their timecards as required
4. Keep extra supplies of bells, aprons, timecards and other bell ringer supplies in the vehicle.
5. To refill the gas tank as needed or communicate any needed repairs to the Corps officer(s)
6. To help check on bell ringers to make sure that they are working in the prescribed manner.
7. Report any concerns or complaints about bell ringers or from the stores.
8. Keep track of mileage.

Warehouse Associate

BASIC PURPOSE
The function of the Processing Associate III is to assist The Salvation Army in the operation of the Thrift Store for the Reno Adult Rehabilitation Program. This Job Description is a broad outline of responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ability to receive donated goods and process them in the most time and space effective manner.
2. Ability to sort, clean and price donated goods.
3. Ability to determine merchandise quality. Send to collectibles for further processing if warranted.
4. Handle all merchandise per policy of the processing deparment and The Salvation Army. Discard any items with inappropriate or suggestive messages, cult slogans, alcohol promotions, drug abuse or humanism.
5. Ability to operate pricing machines.
6. Keep work area clean and orderly.
7. Be able to follow orders from supervisor without direct supervision.
8. Keep records of processed goods and turn in to supervisor. 9. Other duties as assigned.
