The Salvation Army Angel Tree Sign-Ups Have Begun

Oct 1, 2019 | by Christopher Hall

Reno, NV (October 1, 2019) – The Salvation Army of Washoe County, has begun signing up families needing help this Christmas. Many Washoe County families depend on The Salvation Army for toys and food during the holidays. Persons needing assistance must apply in person Monday through Friday now through November 29th, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, as well on Saturday, November 16th from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Those applying need to bring identification for all adults in the house, birth certificates or vaccinations records of all children, proof of residency in Washoe County and proof of income.

The need for assistance is a year-round issue, but Christmas can be especially difficult for families barely making ends meet most of the year. The added expenses of holiday meals and gifts for children are just out of reach for many. As we approach the Christmas season, we are asking donors to dig deep into their pockets by partnering with us to make Christmas special for children and families in the area.

Sign-ups for assistance are available at The Salvation Army located at 1931 Sutro St. Those wishing to donate and those needing more information on getting assistance can call at 775-688-4555, Monday – Friday or visit us on the web at or on most social media by searching SalArmyReno.
