The Salvation Army Begins Construction On Family Resource Center

Dec 12, 2019 | by Christopher Hall

The Salvation Army of Washoe County has begun remodeling its social services office to include a Family Resource Center. This project will allow The Salvation Army to serve the homeless and families in transition from Washoe County who are striving to break the cycle of poverty.

The Family Resource Center will provide computer access, a mail center, and showers for those who enroll in a program designed to move people from homelessness, providing the extra support they need. This project will deliver the social service offices a fresh new look and a design to better serve clients. The Salvation Army is committed to ending intergenerational poverty and to case managing people wanting to take positive steps to improve their lives.

This undertaking has been fully funded through the generous support of local donors and charitable foundations. Without their support, The Salvation Army would not be able to expand its services and complete this endeavor. The remodel is slated to be completed by Spring 2020.
