The Salvation Army of Washoe County gets Anonymous Donor for Silver Angel Tree
Reno, NV (November 21, 2019) – The Salvation Army received a pledge of $1,500 from a generous, anonymous donor. The pledged is to be used in support of local seniors who are in need, struggling to make ends meet. This donation will provide gifts for 50 residents of a local senior community complex who are low income through The Salvation Army’s Silver Angel Tree.
This generous donor has made one stipulation, that The Salvation Army finds a matching gift of $1,500 ensuring that the entire senior community complex receives support and a joyful Christmas. We are seeking support from the community to provide this matching gift and are confident our neighbors will meet the challenge! If an individual, business or group is interested in meeting this challenge, please contact The Salvation Army at (775) 688-4555, come to our offices at 1931 Sutro Street, or email us at salarmy.reno@usw.salvationarmy.org
The Silver Angel Tree program provides Christmas gifts for low-income seniors, ensuring they have a happy holiday. We invite the community to adopt-a-senior by picking up a tag from The Salvation Army’s Silver Angel Tree at the Meadwood Mall. Additional opportunities for donating or volunteering this holiday season can be found at Christmas.salarmyreno.org.
The Salvation Army is humbled and grateful for donors like our Secret Santa, who are willing to dig deep, making sure seniors in our community have a good Christmas.
Our seniors are often the most forgotten and overlooked during the Holiday season. With your help, The Salvation Army will make sure they are not forgotten, along with hundreds of others in our community this Christmas.
